About SnapStoryView
A free, privacy-first Snapchat story viewer and downloader.
A free Snapchat story viewer with no tradeoffs.
SnapStoryView exists because people want to watch public Snapchat stories without their name showing up in someone's viewer list. That's it - no tricks, no data harvesting, no ads-first product design. We read the public story feed Snapchat already exposes on the open web at story.snapchat.com and present it in a clean, fast UI. If a Snapchat user has set their stories public, we show them. If not, we don't - and we never will.
Privacy is a default, not a setting.
Most "anonymous viewer" sites still log in to Snapchat under the hood, or scrape with a single shared account that shows up in viewer lists as a generic name. That's not anonymous - it's the same view under a different label. SnapStoryView never authenticates into Snapchat, never asks you to authenticate, and never creates a viewer row on the owner's account. We don't fingerprint your browser, we don't persist your search history, and we don't sell analytics to anyone. Close the tab and the session is gone.
Boring, fast, transparent.
One-fetch architecture
Every Snapchat profile lookup is a single HTTPS request to a public webpage, parsed and cached for 45 minutes. The hot path is roughly 150 lines of code.
No accounts on either side
You don't sign in. We don't sign in. We just read what Snapchat already publishes publicly.
Free, no premium tier
Lightweight, privacy-respecting ads cover hosting. No paywall, no subscription, no "premium" features.
Mobile-first
Designed for phones first, then scaled up to tablet and desktop. Works in every modern browser.
10 languages
English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Arabic, Turkish - with native RTL support.
Boring on purpose
Standard tools, simple stack, predictable behavior. No exotic dependencies, no surprises.
