24-48 hour response

DMCA policy

If your content appears through our viewer and shouldn't, we'll act fast.

Important context

SnapStoryView does not host Snapchat content.

We do not store, transcode, or rehost any Snap photos or videos. SnapStoryView reads Snapchat's own public story feed at story.snapchat.com and presents the metadata in a clean UI. The actual media is served directly from Snapchat's CDN (cf-st.sc-cdn.net) to your browser. To remove the underlying content, you'll need to contact Snap Inc. directly. We can, however, remove our reference to your content quickly via a valid DMCA notice.

How to file a takedown

Send a DMCA notice.

Email [email protected] with the following information. Incomplete notices may be returned for completion before action is taken.

01

Identify the work

A clear description of the copyrighted work being infringed - what it is, when it was created, and proof of ownership (account name, registration number if applicable).

02

Specify the URL(s)

The exact SnapStoryView URL(s) where the content is referenced. For example: https://snapstoryview.com/profile/username.

03

Provide contact details

Your full legal name, mailing address, phone number, and a valid email address. Anonymous notices cannot be acted on.

04

Include statements

A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the rights holder, and your physical or electronic signature.

Timeline

What happens after you send.

We aim to acknowledge every valid DMCA notice within 24 hours and act within 48 hours, often faster. The reference on SnapStoryView is removed - meaning the username won't surface a viewer page through our site - but as noted above, the underlying media remains on Snapchat's CDN until Snapchat itself acts on it. We will also retain a copy of your notice for our records.

Counter-notices & abuse

If you've been wrongly takedown'd.

If you believe a takedown was issued in error or misuse, you can file a counter-notice to [email protected] with the same identification, contact, and good-faith statements. Repeated bad-faith notices may result in legal action under section 512(f) of the DMCA. We take false claims seriously - they damage real users and they damage trust in the takedown process.

Repeat infringers

Our policy.

SnapStoryView has no user accounts, so there are no accounts to terminate. We do, however, maintain a block-list at the username level for confirmed repeat infringement. If a username has had multiple valid DMCA notices filed against content visible through our viewer, we will permanently exclude that username from search and viewing on SnapStoryView.
