Snapchat Username Search
Type a handle, see if it's public, jump straight to the profile. No app required.
Snapchat doesn't have a real web search. We do the next best thing.
Snapchat's official site doesn't expose a global search box - if you don't already know someone's exact username, the Snapchat app won't help you find them either. The in-app "Add Friends" search only matches handles you're already in some way connected to: contacts in your phone, Snap Map proximity, mutual friends. For everyone else, you have to know the username letter-for-letter. The Snapchat username search on this page works around that limitation by checking the handle you type against Snapchat's own public profile endpoint. Within a second we tell you whether the account exists, whether the owner has flipped on a public profile, and - if they have - we open the live profile feed for you so you can see their stories without leaving the page or installing the app.
Where creators actually post their handle.
Instagram bio
The most common spot. Most Snapchat creators put their handle near the top of the IG bio with a 👻 emoji or "Snap:" prefix.
TikTok bio & pinned video
TikTok bios are short, but creators often pin a video that ends with "follow me on Snap @handle" in the caption.
X / Twitter
Check the pinned tweet and the "links" row. Many creators tree-link their full social map there.
Linktree / Beacons
If the bio leads to a link-in-bio page, the Snapchat handle is usually one of the first three buttons.
YouTube about page
YouTubers list their Snapchat in the channel's About tab, often right next to merch and Patreon.
Podcast show notes
Hosts shout out their socials at the end of episodes - if there's a transcript, the handle is in there.
Getting the username right.
Snapchat usernames are case-insensitive (kyliejenner, KylieJenner and KYLIEJENNER all resolve to the same account), can include numbers, dots, dashes and underscores, and never contain spaces. They're also unique and permanent - Snapchat doesn't recycle handles. If a search returns "not public", the account might still exist - it just hasn't enabled a public profile. If you typed it character-for-character from a verified bio, double-check for the common typos: l vs 1, O vs 0, an extra dot, or a missing underscore.
From search to story in one click.
You type the handle. Search runs on the same screen - no redirect, no "loading" wall, no captcha.
We hit Snapchat's public endpoint. One HTTPS request to story.snapchat.com tells us whether the account exists and whether it's public.
You land on the profile. If the profile is public, the live feed loads. If it isn't, we tell you so you can stop guessing.
What we will and won't do.
Snapchat username search only ever queries Snapchat's public profile data - the same data Snapchat publishes for any browser to read. We don't run a fake account behind the scenes, we don't authenticate, and we don't have a private API. If a username belongs to a private account, our answer is "not public" and that's where the road ends. We also don't keep a log of which usernames you searched, don't fingerprint your browser, and don't share any data with the username's owner.
Quick answers.
After you find them.
